The Barbed Wire Art Retreats
What’s it all about?

The Barbed Wire Art Retreats hosted by John and Veronica Rigby are for folk of all levels of art ability, from beginner through to those more accomplished. The idea is for us to provide a venue and a platform that will allow attendees to explore, develop and improve their own unique artist’s skillset and at the same time take the opportunity for the peace and tranquillity of the Towamba Valley to improve temperament, body and soul.

It is about you, taking the opportunity to spend time with John Rigby and other artists to soak up whatever you feel will work for you. We all paint differently, there are no defined conditions or expectations from the retreat though you will be able to absorb techniques, tips, tricks and arts advice and coaching as you feel comfortable to do so. You can expect a caring and sharing environment where encouragement is the key, we all have beautiful art inside us and if you want to bring it out here is a simple, basic venue to express it and do so.

John Rigby is an Australian artists who has exhibited nationally and created artworks for commercial applications for over forty years. He has achieved numerous art and industry awards, is a qualified trainer and assessor in the fields of signwriting, commercial and graphic arts, painting and arts administration. John has trained, taught and coached on the arts to all age groups through private classes, trade events as well schools and the Northern Territory schooling system on indigenous communities and in the work place.
